Here's the 411 on what, exactly, the Townships Youth Link is: The Townships Youth Link site is a BRAND NEW cyber-meeting place, created for youth (just like you!) in the Eastern Townships. What can you do here? Well, that's easy...as easy as C...C...C... Create your own COOL opportunities (educational, recreational, social and employment, among others)... Connect with new people and make new friends from all over the Eastern Townships... Contribute to your community...
Navigating the Site: All of the 'whats' and 'wheres' for the Link... (hint: if you click on the section titles, you can visit that page, otherwise use the main menu on the side of the page) Does this sound like fun? We certainly hope so! Instead of keeping you longer with a really boring intro text, we invite you to take a look around this site and learn about all the different things The Link has to offer. Don't know where to start? No worries! Here are a few suggestions for you to get you started: Our Projects: Check out the projects page to find out about all of the cool youth projects that Townshippers' Association has going on... You might just find one or two that interest you! The Creativity Corner: The creativity corner is a place for you to let your imagination run wild. Do you like to write stories? are you a poet at heart? Do you love to draw? Make short movies or cartoons? Is there a dance this weekend in North Hatley? A coffee house/open mic event in Mansonville? A music night in Lennoxville? This is where you will find out! Contests and Other Opportunities: This is the place to find out information about the many contests (open to young people like you!), not only here in the Eastern Townships but all across the globe. Information about any cool, exciting contests that we come across will be posted here. If you happen to find any you'd like to see posted, let us know. Employment: Every month we will post a new "Hints" column (covering topics from how to 'tweak' your CV to how to ace an interview), as well as an "Ask Us: Employment" column that will answer the important questions you have about work and careers. Finally, are you a student looking for a fun, part-time (or summer) job... something that will give you awesome experience but still let you have enough freedom to continue your studies? If so, check out our job bank to learn about the best student employment opportunities we come across. Youth Resources: Important phone numbers, e-mail addresses, websites...especially, with regards to sensitive issues like drugs, peer pressure, sexuality, etc. Find the information you are afraid to ask anyone else for right here. Blog: We regularly update the blog with late-breaking news, information about upcoming (or recently passed) activities and tons more stuff. The blog is a good place to check out because it won't be ONLY the youthtownships.ca administrators that post there... other Townshippers' Association staff, board or youth council members may occasionally send a message your way, so be on the lookout! Bulletin Board: Our bulletin board is the ultimate destination for meeting, greeting and gathering information from other youth. One section (Townshippers' Association Announcements) is open to everyone and it's the place where ALL important messages from the website administrators, TA staff, board and youth council members will be posted. For those of you who are members, however, there are nearly a DOZEN other forums open to you...including special forums to help you coordinate rides, activities, movie nights, etc. with other members. Access to these VIP forums is definitely worth a TA membership... just think of all the people you'll meet and all of the awesome opportunities available to you at the click of a mouse!
